SATTAL surrounded by dense oak trees, there is a group of seven lakes at this place, some of which have now disappeared. This place is compared to Westmorland in England. On reaching Sattal, the first lake is found in the form of Nal Damyanti Tal. Further on is the hermitage of Stanley Johns, an American missionary. The next lake is Panna or Garuda Lake. As we go down, there is a group of three lakes, these lakes are known as Ram, Lakshman and Sita lakes. There is a temple of Naukuchia Devi here. There is a group of seven small lakes here.
