DEVPRYAG this city is the place of Pandits and these Pandits are related to Badrinath Dham. In Devprayag there is a confluence of Bhagirathi River coming from Gangotri and Alaknanda River coming from Badrinath Dham and from Devprayag this river is known as Holy Ganga. This city situated at the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi is situated at an altitude of 472 meters. . This town is the headquarter of Devprayag tehsil situated on Rishikesh Badrinath National Highway 58. According to belief, Devprayag, one of the five holy Sangam pilgrimages of Alaknanda River, is also known as Rishi Dev Sharma, who did penance here and had darshan of God.
