HARIDWAR - SAPT RISHI ASHRAM
SAPT RISHI ASHRAM is so named because it is the location of a former meditation centre used by the seven sapt rishis (sages). These seven sages are known by the names Kashyapa, Vashisht, Gautam, Jamadagi, Vishwamitra, Bhardwaja, and Atri in Hindu mythology.Therefore, those seven rishis had decided to meditate at the location of the temple. Due to its religious significance, devotees highly regard this ashram. Even now, rishis, saints, and sages from all over the world frequently visit the ashram. SAPT RISHI ASHRAM
Sapt Rishi Ashram is established in 1943 by Guru Goswami Dutt which provide lodging, meals and free education to poor kids. Sapt Rishi Ashram is also a well-maintained complex with seven rooms to stay. The ashram is located at 5 km from Haridwar.
If you are travelling by road from Delhi to Haridwar, buses and taxis are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. The distance from Delhi to Ashram is approximately 217 km. One can reach Ashram by hiring taxi and bus from Haridwar.
If you prefer to travel by air, Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun is the nearest airport to Ashram. The distance from Dehradun to Ashram is 30 km. From Dehradun, one can take local buses, taxis, and sharing cabs to reach Daksh Ashram.
If you are travelling by train, nearest railway station to Ashram is Haridwar railway station which is 7 km away. From station, one can take bus, taxi and local cabs to reach Ashram.
