MOTESHWAR MAHADEV its Shivling is considered to be the twelfth sub-Jyotirlinga. Due to the high thickness of Shivling, it is famous by the name of Moteshwar Mahadev Temple. According to the Skanda Purana, Lord Shiva said that the devotee, who brings the Ganga water from Haridwar and offers it here by keeping the kanwar on his shoulder, will get salvation. Due to this belief, people offer kanwar here when their vows are fulfilled. Every year a grand fair is held here on Mahashivratri festival, many devotees come here every year to offer Kavad.
