MANSA DEVI very few people know about Mansa Devi, the daughter of Lord Shiva. Mansa Devi is also known as the goddess of snakes. According to religious beliefs, Mansa Devi sits on the seat of a swan. Snakes reside on his crown and body. Mansa Devi's two hands are filled with nectar and poison. There is no fear of snakes by worshiping Mansa Devi. Bhog is also offered to Maa Mansa Devi with the opposite hand only. Mother Mansa Devi is also worshiped with the opposite hand only. Mansa Devi Temple is dedicated to goddess Mansa Devi. The temple is located atop the bilwa parvat in Haridwar. One can reach temple by either 3 km steep trek from Haridwar or by rope-way service called Mansa Devi Udankhatola available from Haridwar. The city is well connected by road and train to major destination of Uttarakhand.
