GOLJU DEVTA Goril, a Katyuri prince of Champawat, who was known for his indestructible justice and fairness, found himself a victim of a conspiracy hatched by his stepmother. He was thrown into a river in an iron cage. As a symbol of the high esteem of justice, a temple was dedicated to him at Gwal Chauraha in Champawat and since then he has become a deity of great influence attracting innumerable pilgrims from all around him.
