CHAMOLI - GAMSHALI VILLAGE
Gamshali village is the richest village of Niti Valley. More than 200 families live in this village. Gamshali village is situated at an altitude of 3321 meters above sea level. Most of the traders in the Indo-Tibet trade were from this village. Niti village is situated at a distance of 6 km from here.
Niti village is situated at the confluence of Ganesh Ganga and Dhauliganga. The main deity here is Phaila Devta. The village has electricity and communication facilities. But the school opened in 1912 is now closed. Gamshali village has been famous for its prosperity and prosperity in the entire Niti Valley. The big businessmen here used to sell their goods not only up to Ramnagar and Kotdwar but also up to Gujarat and Bengal. After 1962, when Tibet trade stopped, then the people here paid attention to education and got government jobs.
